June Edition: What’s new this month?

OUR NEWEST AUTHORS:

Here at Bow’s Bookshelf, we have been growing like crazy! Here are some of our new authors:

Aaron Ozment

The Brothers Three Winter 2023

Aaron Ozment was born in Royal Oak Michigan and currently resides in Kagoshima, Japan where he studies classical Japanese music and poetry. His previous works have been published in the Asahi Shinbun Newspaper, and in The Journal of The International University of Kagoshima. He developed a love of Japanese poetry at an early age, and majored in Japanese Literature as an undergrad. Having researched a great deal of western poetry during his time in graduate school, he was inspired to experiment in classically inspired poems within the western tradition.

Charleigh Frederick

Demon Scout Winter 2023

Charleigh Frederick is an author, playwright, and screenwriter from Duluth, Minnesota, whose works blur the line between good and evil. She is an undergraduate at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Writing. Charleigh also enjoys weaving baskets, obsessing over whatever she is currently reading, and spending time with family and friends. Sarah Ainslee

That Wasn’t in the Script Spring 2023

Sarah Ainslee has worn many hats. Nanny, barista, social media manager, and occasional band wrangler (don’t ask.) Through it all, ‘writer’ is the only title that has ever stuck. Telling stories is what she always comes back to.

She’s a YA contemporary author with a penchant for awkward encounters and whimsical adventures—a dash of romance never hurts either. She writes stories for the teenager inside all of us who still doesn’t know what they want to be when they grow up.

Sarah currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee. When she’s not writing, you can catch her hunkered down at a coffee shop, sharing every in-depth thought about her love of superheroes and romcoms over on her Instagram.

NEW RELEASES:

Not one but two new book releases in the past month!

JD Steiner and Kristin Pack both released children’s book at the end of May/early June.

Buddy and the Green Galoshes is a short children’s chapter book about overcoming challenges, valuing the opinions of those who love you, and not letting bullies get you down. Each chapter contains an adorable illustration by Sage Steiner.

Emma Goes to School is an inclusive children’s picture book with messages of acceptance, love, embracing your differences, and overcoming your fears.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

Two in-person events in Metro-Detroit

Join us at Main Street MI in Clarkston, Michigan on July 15th and 16th to celebrate the release of Buddy and the Green Galoshes and Emma Goes to School. There will be arts and crafts, activity sheets, a short reading, and more! More info coming soon.
